Today was a busy day. Lots going on and many pictures.
As always, click on any picture for a larger image.
Although it appears that we jump all over the place, remember that all of this is going on simultaneously all day.
Sign announcing the future home of TOLLC

The sign goes up announcing that this is the future home of Tree Of Life Lutheran Church.

Sylvia and Jean admire the new sign. Sylvia admiring the new sign

Bruce and Bob begin working on the roof

Bruce and Bob begin working on the roof. They peeled back the shingle layer, pulled up the tar paper, and removed the layer of plywood sheeting due to rot.

There are two large piles of chopped rubber mulch. We have two separate people interested in taking the mulch. One is a family with kids, and the other is a nearby daycare center.

Here we're loading a pickup and trailer to haul some away for another group of kids to enjoy.

Removing 2 sofas and 1 love seat

Early on we noticed that years ago someone had dumped a sofa at the back of the property. The woods were so overgrown and full of debris, that we couldn't get back there. Today was the big day.

When we finally got a truck back there to remove the sofa, we discovered that there were two sofas and a love seat!

Donna and Gail are priming the ceiling. They're quite happy to be covering the diamonds! Donna and Gail working on the ceiling

Kitchen cabinets painted

It's difficult to see, but the kitchen cabinets are a very pale sage green. This picture shows the cabinets painted, but the bottom corner cabinet is actually in white primer. You can see the contrast between the white of the primer and the pale green of the finished color.

The hardware was restored by Rich to its original finish. There were multiple layers of paint, but he did a great job and the hardware really looks good against the new paint.

There's still more to do in the kitchen. Rich has the doors off and is painting them in the back. More to do in the kitchen

Still more to do in the kitchen There's still more to do in the kitchen, but Rich is working on it.

The office is looking good with a new ceiling fan. Office is looking good

Scaping up floor tiless in Pastor's office Jean's been busy in the Pastor's future office. Here we can see the floor tiles being removed. When we first looked at this building there was standing water in this room.

The outside team has cut up more dead or leaning trees and branches. This truck has a full load to remove Another truck load of wood

Cleared woods Notice how clear the side yard is now. There's still ivy on the trees. One of the future tasks is to pull the ivy out so it doesn't continue to kill the trees.

The lawn tractor with the bucket parked alongside on of the piles of good blocks and rocks pulled from the woods.

This shot is taken from the side yard in the woods. When we first started working here, the woods were overwhelmed with vines, debris, branches and ivy. Notice how clear the ground is now.

Rich painting the cabinet doors Rich is painting the next set of kitchen cabinet doors.

Meanwhile, back on the roof project, Bob and the Gnome check on the progress Gnome and Bob watching roofers

Bruce, Bob, and Bob on roof Bruce, Bob, and Bob find even more rotten boards. They wind up replacing more plywood sheeting, and nearly the whole face board.

Now here's a sight you don't see every day! Feet sticking into the room from the ceiling! Strange sight of a leg sticking into the room from the ceiling

Donna's covering diamond pattern Donna's happy to be covering the diamond pattern.

Gail looks like she's REALLY happy those diamonds are covered! Gail's happy the diamonds are covered

Inside the dumpster Inside the dumpster, we can see the sofas from the woods, and the early stages of the roofing materials

Don's carrying a ramp to load the tractor with the bucket back on the trailer. Behind him is one of the debris piles.

Jeff and Don plan next steps Jeff and Don plan next steps. Behind them are the tables made of blocks, and the tractor ready to load up on the trailer.

Bob and Cindy provide a bbq lunch for the group. Bob and Cindy Koch provide lunch

Bruce's feet sticking into the ceiling. Bruce appears to be in a hurry for lunch. Don't jump!

Sylvia removes a "paint snake" from the tray. Don't worry, it's not a real snake. That's the name Sylvia, Donna, and Gail came up with for the ribbons of congealing paint in the tray. Sylvia removs "paint snake"

Room in primer The room in primer. Finally!

The diamonds are finally covered in primer The diamonds are finally covered with primer

Rich and Bob check out the ceiling Rich and Bob check out the ceiling and roof. It's supposed to rain later and we're starting to get concerned that we won't get the roof closed up in time.
The roofing team was still working when the drizzle started. Although the tar paper was down, they kept going and put the shingle and muck down. They finally left about 6PM!
Thanks, Guys.
Nice job.
