Worship 10:30 a.m.
At Brick Mill Elementary School
Our worship use updated liturgies and is centered around the life
of Christ. Key elements of our Christ-centeredness include Gospel
preaching and weekly communion.
Children’s
Church
During Worship: From the Lessons to the Passing of the Peace
Children's church will not meet on the following
Sundays:
11/26/06, 12/24/06, 12/31/06, and 4/8/07.
Children age
3 and up are invited to hear the sermon at their own level at Children’s Church. The lessons are targeted for children
in early elementary, but are flexible enough that older children
can grasp the deeper meaning. Children will be dismissed as a group
and brought back as a group before communion. Children’s Church
is located in our nursery… the school library.
Our Worship Teams
Choir – Tree of Life loves to sing! Our choir sings a variety
of special selections. We welcome singers and instrumentalists that
are interested to come to choir rehearsal, which is held at the Ministry
Center after service. For more information, contact Duane Dillard. Altar
Guild – Our
Altar Guild prepares the altar, or table, for Sunday Service. They
keep the candles current, wash the linens,
work with the paraments (the special colored cloths draped over the
altar), prepare communion and bake our communion bread. To help,
contact Mary Jane Schiedt.
Ushers – Our Ushers work in pairs of two. They bring our worship
supplies to Brick Mill Elementary. During the service, they pass
out worship binders, direct worship attendees to available seats,
dismiss people for communion and help visitors find their way to
the nursery or Children’s Church. To help, contact our scheduler
Nancy Nadel.
Readers – Are
you skilled at public reading? Join our Readers. Once each month
our readers read the lessons for that Sunday, help
with communion, lead the announcements and send us out with our mission.
To help, contact our scheduler Nancy Nadel.
Acolytes – What
is an acolyte? A fancy name for those who light the candles, get
the offering plates and help with communion.
This special job is reserved for Middle and High School Youth. Sign
up today. To help, contact our scheduler Nancy Nadel.
Worship
and Music Committee – Ever wonder how our services
are planned? Did you enjoy sending notes to our troops or learning
about the “eye of the needle?” Come and visit a Worship
and Music Committee meeting, and you can help plan too. Creativity
is welcome. We meet the 4th Tuesday of each month, 7 p.m. at the
TOL ministry center. To help, contact Sylvia Schill, our chair person.
